How we chose them
One rule, applied the same way to every player: goals plus assists in each competition's last completed club season in our records. That is 2025/26 for Bundesliga, Champions League, La Liga, Premier League, Primeira Liga, Saudi Pro League, Süper Lig, Eredivisie, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Championship, and calendar 2025 for CONCACAF Champions Cup, Major League Soccer, Brasileirão Série A and Copa Libertadores.
We count club leagues and continental club competitions. Domestic cups are left out, because we hold the cups of some countries and not others. The AFC Champions League and the Copa Sudamericana are left out too: their 2025 records credit a player with 36 and 28 appearances, more than either competition’s format allows.
When two data providers list the same player under different ids, we count them once. A record with no assists value counts as 0; 7 of the 100 have at least one such record, and their pages say which. Ties go to the player with more goals, then to the one with fewer appearances.
The ranking starts from 676 scorer records covering 628 players. Number 100 has 19 goals plus assists, and 5 more players also have 19 but lose on the tie-break. The rule also sets a minimum of 10 appearances; no one on this list has fewer than 25.
What this list cannot see
The totals come from the leading-scorer lists we hold, which are ordered by goals. A player who creates far more than they score can be missed, and their goals in a competition where they are not among the leading scorers are not counted.
Those lists are not the same length everywhere. We hold the top 50 scorers in Bundesliga, Champions League, La Liga, Premier League, Primeira Liga, Brasileirão Série A, Eredivisie, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Championship, but only the top 20 in CONCACAF Champions Cup, Major League Soccer, Saudi Pro League, Süper Lig and Copa Libertadores, so a player near the cutoff is more likely to be missed in the second group.
Competitions we do not hold, including the Europa League and the Conference League, add nothing.
