This page explains how to delete your Gooolll account and the data linked to it, exactly what is removed, and the few things that are kept — with the reason for each. It applies to both the website and the Gooolll Android app.
Email us from the address you signed in with, and we will delete the account and its data. Sending from that address is how we confirm the request is yours — if you can no longer access it, write from any address and tell us the display name you used so we can identify the account another way.
A delete control inside your account settings is being added. This page will be updated when it is available; email works either way.
Deletion takes effect once the request is confirmed. These are removed outright:
Your entries disappear from the public leaderboards as a consequence of the above: those lists are built from your profile and predictions, so once those are gone there is nothing left to display.
Prize and winners records — anonymised, not deleted. If you ever won a weekly prize, the record that the win happened is kept, because it is the record of money being owed or paid and deleting it would erase evidence of an obligation. Everything identifying you is scrubbed from it: display name, country, profile picture and payout address. What remains is an identifier that no longer resolves to any person once your account is gone.
Administrative actions you took on other people's records. If you held a staff role and acted on someone else's record, the log of that action remains. It documents what was done to another user, which is not your personal data to erase.
Feedback messages — best effort only, and we want to be exact about this. Messages sent through the feedback form are not linked to an account. We can only find them by matching the email address on the message against your account address, so a message you sent from a different address may remain. We would rather tell you that than imply a completeness we cannot deliver.
Deletion is not reversible, and signing in again afterwards creates a new, empty account. If you only want to stop newsletter emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send — that does not require deleting anything. If you only want to leave this device, signing out is enough.
